\n \nAccounting in Ukraine<\/div>\nWhat a foreign owner should know before the first month closes<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
\nCorporate income tax 18%<\/b><\/p>\nCharged on accounting profit adjusted for the tax differences listed in the Tax Code. Companies with annual revenue above 40 million hryvnia report quarterly, smaller ones once a year. Dividends paid abroad carry a 15% withholding tax unless a tax treaty lowers it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
VAT 20%<\/b><\/p>\nRegistration becomes compulsory once taxable supplies exceed 1 million hryvnia over 12 months; voluntary registration is possible earlier. VAT invoices are registered in the state electronic register, and the return is filed every month within 20 days after the month end.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Simplified tax for small companies<\/b><\/p>\nA company with revenue up to roughly 10 million hryvnia a year and no excluded activities can pay a single tax of 5% of revenue instead of income tax and, in most cases, VAT. Whether it suits a subsidiary depends on its customers and its cost structure; we model both options before registration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Statutory books and statements<\/b><\/p>\nBooks are kept in Ukrainian under national accounting standards, with annual financial statements due by the end of February. A parallel set under IFRS or in the group’s format is a separate deliverable we prepare in English.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Currency control<\/b><\/p>\nUnder martial law the National Bank limits certain cross-border payments, including some dividend and loan repayments. Before a foreign payment is planned we check the current rules, so that the transfer is not returned by the bank.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
